ইংরেজি Grammar শেখার সময় Active Voice ও Passive Voice একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অধ্যায়। Exam, writing, spoken English—সব জায়গাতেই এর ব্যবহার রয়েছে।
অনেক learner মনে করেন Voice খুব কঠিন, কিন্তু আসলে সঠিক নিয়ম বুঝলে Voice Change খুবই সহজ।
Voice কী?
Voice বোঝায়— sentence-এ কাজটি কে করছে এবং কাজটির উপর জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে কার উপর।
Definition:
Voice shows whether the subject performs the action or receives the action.

1️ Active Voice কী?
যখন sentence-এ subject নিজে কাজ করে, তখন সেটিকে বলে Active Voice।
Structure:
Subject + Verb + Object
Examples:
- Ram writes a letter. (রাম একটি চিঠি লেখে।)
- She teaches English. (সে ইংরেজি পড়ায়।)
- The boy kicked the ball. (ছেলেটি বলটি লাথি মারল।)
এখানে subject কাজটি করছে, তাই এগুলো Active Voice।
2️ Passive Voice কী?
যখন sentence-এ subject কাজটি গ্রহণ করে, তখন সেটিকে বলে Passive Voice।
Structure:
Object + helping verb + V3 + by + subject
Examples:
- A letter is written by Ram. (রামের দ্বারা একটি চিঠি লেখা হয়।)
- English is taught by her. (তার দ্বারা ইংরেজি পড়ানো হয়।)
- The ball was kicked by the boy. (ছেলেটির দ্বারা বলটি মারা হয়েছিল।)
এখানে কাজটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, কে করেছে সেটা secondary, তাই Passive Voice।

Active থেকে Passive বানানোর সহজ নিয়ম
Step-by-Step Rule:
- Active sentence-এর Object-কে Subject বানান
- Verb-এর tense অনুযায়ী helping verb বসান
- Main verb-কে V3 করুন
- পুরনো Subject-কে by দিয়ে বসান
